Chesa Klucker which has been in our family since 1930, underwent a major renovation in 2023 in order to restore it to its former glory. The challenge was to preserve the authenticity and charm of yesteryear while discreetly introducing the comfort and luxury of today.
Chesa Klucker is a typical example of Engadin houses, adorned with the famous sgraffito, the very distinctive architectural decorations that frame doors, windows, and facades.
Inside, the walls of the living spaces and two bedrooms are clad in Swiss pine. This wood with honey-colored tones and a unique scent creates a soft and warm atmosphere inviting rest and contemplation. In the past, a "Stubenofen" (wood stove) heated these rooms, and a series of openings conveyed the warm air to the bedrooms.
Today, the "Stubenofen" still functions as additional heating, but a high-efficiency pellet burner distributes heat throughout the house. In the kitchen, the old wood-fired oven has been preserved. And the kitchen cupboards - also made of Swiss pine – and created by Christian Klucker have been adapted by incorporating contemporary modules.
The house is insulated with natural materials. In short, traditional mountain living has been preserved and optimized by merging fine craftsmanship with modern comforts to offer you a stay that lives up to your expectations.
As for the garden, Chesa Klucker offers 3000 square metres of land, most of which is south-facing, and secluded. Perfect for resting, reading, sunbathing, and outdoor meals, even in winter... All of this amidst the magnificent landscapes of Val Fex.
